My 98 Tahoe has a humming noise while driving. Thought it was the wheel bearings but that's not the problem. Someone said it could possibly be the front differential. Help!

Jack up the front end and spin the tires? Have you tried to rotate the tires?

No I haven't. I will give it a try. I'm hoping it's nothing bad or expensive to fix. Just got done replacing the fuel pump, filter, rotor, distributor cap, ignition coil, ,ICM, plugs and wires. Everything on there was still the original parts.

Mine turned out to be a spindle bearing that went bad, you have to pop the rear diff cover off to check it but my mechanic showed me a picture and the diff magnet in the back looked like a damn porcupine...it was BAD

It would get worse when turning or at speed, IE, one wheel turning faster than another or traveling at high speeds
