You can put 2in Blocks in the Back - with out messing up the sway bar - (if you go 3 than you need new end links for the sway bar and i couldn't find any anywhere you'd have to make them) - and turn the keys in the front (dont ever go all the way up with them leave some threads sticking out but make sure both sides are level) and easily fit some 33s with minimal rubbing depending on how wide the 33 is i think you can go up to 32s stock depending on how wide the tire is.. but you may have some rubbing - i had put 32½'s on 20" wheels on my truck after the 2in blocks and turning the keys it was a 12.50 tire only rubbed when i turned hard and hit a bump

I've got 265/75R/16 (31.65") on the 2 door 4WD Tahoe that I just bought. It doesn't have a lift yet and the tires do not rub. I'll probably go with 285/75/16 (33's) after installing a 4" suspension lift.

I would go with a 6" lift and 35's but with the price of gas, I don't think I will go there unless someone can give me some real world gas mileage figures showing that there wouldn't be a big difference between the two.

I could always go with the 6" lift and the 33's but that may look a little out of balance. Kind of like the truck is up on stilts.

No, I don't have any yet but as soon as I can get a shot of it I will post on this thread for you. The sticker on the inside of my drivers side door states that 245's and 265's are the acceptable tires for my vehicle (95' model). More than likely it would be the same for a 96' model.

This would be like comparing apples to oranges but, my son has 285's on his 3/4 ton Ford 4WD without a lift and they do not rub. I'm not recommending that you go with the 285's without a lift but it may be possible. Maybe someone else has tried them on a Tahoe without a lift and can confirm.

95' 4WD pictures

Here's the pictures I promised, nothing special but should give you an idea of what 265/75/16 will look like on a bone stock truck. Can't wait to get the lift, wheels and tires.

mine has a 6-1/2" pro comp plus an add a leaf in the rear for about 8 total inches of lift. wheels are 20" avalanche with 37" tires. the truck handles way better than with a 16" rims since i dont have so much sidewall on the tires.

I have 285/75/16 on a 1998 Z71 truck with no lift or modifications so you should be fine. I've seen where others have put those on Tahoes/Yukons without issue. Any larger is questionable, though.

very minor rub when the wheels are turned the whole way against the stops. not enough to even barely be noticable.

I've got 285/75/16 on a bone stock '99 z71 tahoe and they don't rub. Unless by rub you mean they help me score hot high school chicks. Then yes, they rub like hell.

I had 285/75/16's on our 1999 tahoe (no lift kit)with no problems. The torsion bars were/are turned up for these tires to fit with no issues.
