Message center indicates drivers door adjar causing interior lights to stay on

2005 Tahoe. Message center indicates drivers door is adjar causing interior lights to stay on. Door is closed securely. Lights can be turned off with override switch located on headlight switch panel. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Well the driver door ajar switch is integrated into the driver door latch assy the circuitry goes thru the driver door master window/door lock switch proper name driver door module.. the DDM receives a input from the door ajar switch to indicate the status of the door then the DDM communicates the status to the IPC via class 2 message... if you have a DVOM you can very easily test the door ajar switch if you dont well highest probability its going to be the driver door latch assy

Thanks so much for the insight into my problem. I'll be pulling the door panel tomorrow to check out the latch assembly. Your reply really was a great help in directing me toward a solution to the problem. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
