100k on a diesel is Really nothing, Funny thing is at Arbys last weekend i saw a tahoe and it was grumbling, though "wow somthing is way wrong with his truck" then realised it was a diesel. Then when he peeled out of the lot (was pissed off about somthing, not sure what) I realised it was a 2 door.

I say get it. Their the smallest Hp wise v-8 in the tahoe, but the largest in torque. (195 hp for the diesel, 255 for the 350 and 290 for the 454)

ive heard 99 percent of the tahoes are gas and 1 percent is diesel, so i would say extremely rare

Shouldn't be too hard to find parts I imagine, isn't the diesel engine in that truck the exact same diesel engine found in all the Silverado 2500's of that era as well?

That would be sick, dude, because they are pretty rare. I know I have seen a real real real lot of 1995 - 1999 Tahoes on the road, and I have STILL never seen a diesel model (unless I did but never heard the engine as it rumbled by). That would be sick, plus you can get gobs and gobs of stump pulling grunt out of a diesel if it's turbo charged. You can boost the pressure and add a tune and the thing gets nasty power. This guy at my work had a 1996 Silverado 2500 turbo diesel and he upped the boost and turned the chip + custom 4" straight pipe out the back and he was pushing like 600 ft/lbs. (this is what he said it was putting out, but I took his word for it). That thing was loud and sounded awesome.

should be the regular 6.5L Diesel they put in several of the models. i have personally come across one, but it wasn't for sale of course, seen a few in youtube video's offroad.

that would make a SICK SICK rig if you straight axled it and put like a 12" lift on it some 20" rockstars w/ mud tires and one of the matching black grills (if they make them for the older chevy's)

if you go look at it take some pictures of it and post em up.

:Dyea dude, i wish i could have found one with a diesel, But it was 7.4 or 5.7. But dude that thing has about 120-140 horses ready to be taken out of the engine, chip, exhaust, intake. Man that would be so awsome.

I think it looks neat. I'm weirded out by seeing that engine in that engine bay. whats that little gauge thing in the picture. looks like its attached to where our distributor would be on the gas engine.. what is that thing?
