Rear view mirror

for those that have only 2 buttons on the rear view mirror, a comp button and a temp button, just messing around the other day waiting for the wife in the store I held down both for about 3 seconds and up popped a "Z" on the mirror and you can go up and down on the number, I left it where it was at but does anyone know what this is for?

It has to do with compass variance. There are 15 different zones, that have to do with Earth's magnetic North, and the true geographic North. If you have the wrong zone, you could get false readings.

At least, that's what my manual says.
