Recirc button on a/c heat controls

Ive got an 03 Yukon and when I hit the recirc button it blinks for a few seconds and then the light goes out. Im taking this to mean that the recirc isnt working properly since every other buttons light stays on when you push it.

Anyone else have this issue?

Mine only stays on when I have the far right knob is in certain positions. Try switching to floor or defrost one of those should make it stay on.

Check the manual. Both resirc and AC buttons are explained. They don't engage unless certain other variabels are set correctly.

It cannot be used in floor, bi-level, defog, or defrost modes.

What puzzles me is that why don't they just make it so when you push the recirculation button, it exits one of those modes.
