Give up now..... This can be a hazzard! Go to eBay and pony up for a Heater / A/C control block. before it turns everything crispy, it is a 5 minute install from sitting position in the the passenger seat! Good Luck

    Windshield Autoglass

On the back of the glove compartment you will find the RPO code list from your build sheet. It will contain three digit code numbers (for everything, including windshields, examples following) such as: A01 - shaded; A02 - Tinted uper / shaded; A03 - Clear / tinted upper; A05 - tinted, no upper...

someone installed the second battery? http://www.tahoeforum.com/images/smilies/uhoh2

Left Battery / Dual Battery Setup - 1999 Tahoe This job is pretty simple if approached in the right way. First, go to GM Parts warehouse and get a second battery tray and holder. When I bought the last one it was only about $25.00 + S&H. This avoids all of the mess with the windshield filler...

Are the back seats the same in a 2 door and 4 door

@ Door / 4 Door Rear Seats Seats will interchange. Brackets / Floor Mounts are _very_ different. A tape measure and a double jointed chile to read it will tell the tale. Good luck!

    MPG's

The point of this exersize, since you are likely to change the plugs anyhow, is to get some insight on ezactly how your engine is performing, one cylinder compared to each of the others..... not to waste the cardboard, or waste the pencil, or to increase the risk of being five minutes late to...

    MPG's

Good morning Yuke..... You have asked a very complex question, if you are looking for a precisely accurate and useful answer, considering performance. I'll give you a taste of one person's educated opinion following. Spark plugs are the very best and most accurate indicator of relative...

    MPG's

1999 Tahoe Z71 2 door. Florida vehicle. Stock L31, clean, carefully _dealer_ maintained since new. 130K miles. Superchips re-tuned (performance.) K&N intake tubing w/cold outside air flow inlet doubled in volume area w/hole custom cut in RF fender. (Do the math..... stock intake system runs out...

Any one have an intake write up?

I agree with Boostaholic..... "The K&N has the most potential for power". However, the problem then remaining is the air inlet path and volume potential. If the throat of the inlet in 3-1/2"+, the airflow path feeding it should be at the very least that big! It is not. First problem a <85mm MAF...

    97 Tahoe Gear Ratio??

When you open that glove compartment, you need to do a tab move and roll the glove compartment door all the way past full normal open to get a really good view of the RPO label. Be sure to empty it first, or you will empty it while looking for the RPOs! Old Goat has given you a _great_ pic of...

Can I get away with just ONE new bearing?

My experience is, just like all mechanical devices, every part has its unique duty cycle, barring extraordinary circumstances. Due to the cost and no time gain benefit, I do one side at a time. You can listen for noise from the other one carefully, brake pads clear, and if there is _any_ noise...

Scraping sound from front..front hub bearing?

If the sound changes substantially when you swerve quickly from right to left and back again, there is a good chance that one or both of those hub bearings is bad. These '98 and '99's can go through them pretty quickly. Don't order new hub sets by the book. Order by original part number only. I...

    99 Tahoe, 2 Door, 4WD - Front Lift Needed

I need to lift the front end of my 1999 Tahoe, 2 Door, 4 Wheel Drive by 2 to 3 inches. The front end is lower than the rear from the factory and I would like to correct this. I prefer the level look. I am concerned that the lift might change the caster in the front end or the angle of the drive...
