2004-2006 Tahoe. Has anyone had a 'Tighten Fuel Cap' message that ends up creating a P0455 DTC, and tightening or replacing the cap does not correct the problem? Did you find your EVAP leak? So far I have replaced the Fuel Cap, vapor canister vent valve solenoid and attached hose, and vapor...

Has anyone had a large brake fluid leak at or near the ABS Modulator Valve, mounted on the LH frame rail below the driver, 2000-2006 Tahoe? So far I can't tell if it may be a rusted line at that location, or if the actual ABS Modulator Valve is leaking. Has anyone seen one leak before? Thank...

Key tumbler keeps falling into door on '99

I removed the door handle and tumbler, and it looks like the tumbler must not have been seated all the way into the hole cavity to have the spring loaded plunger seat properly. I have it now seated correctly, so it should now stay in place. Thank you for the help on this one!

Key tumbler keeps falling into door on '99

The key tumbler keeps falling inside the door. It's hard to see up in there. I am pretty sure it started happening after I replaced the exterior handle a few years ago. What actually holds it into place? Thank you for the help on this.

Does anyone know what it would take to use 2000-2002 Tahoe (1999-2005 1500 Silverado) rear 6 lug single piston rear calipers for a '95-'99 Tahoe rear disc conversion? Is the rear end housing much different on the 2000-2002 models? Axles, etc.? Thanks for the help?

99 Tahoe, rear brake drum issue. Need help

I just replaced both rear drums, all 4 shoes and new rear brake hardware. The passenger side is working great. The driver side is dragging and will get very hot in a very short time. On the driver side the front shoe is moving inward, toward the backing plate, when it is pushed out by the...

    '99 Tahoe 5.7L, starting problem

Before going on to the step of replacing the CKP sensor, I replaced the Duralast distributor cap and rotor button kit from AutoZone, which had a 5-year warranty. They were less than a year old, but I figured replacing them for free under warranty might not be a bad investment in my time. After...

Has anyone replaced a Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor?

Has anyone replaced the Crankshaft Position sensor on a 1996 to 2000 5.7L? If so, what were the symptoms before the replacement of the Crankshaft Position sensor? Did it require a Crankshaft Position Sensor Variation Learning Procedure have to be preformed as described in the Haynes Repair...

    '99 Tahoe 5.7L, starting problem

I just put a Fuel Pressure gauge on the fuel line port at the back end of the upper intake. The vehicle had been sitting for over a week or more, and the first reading was at 60psi. The second and third readings came in at 58psi. That appears to be at the low end of the 60 to 66 psi...

    '99 Tahoe 5.7L, starting problem

lesterl, thank you for the info. Do you recommend an AC-Delco fuel pump, if the f/p is bad? I just checked with Advanced Auto parts where I bought the f/p in 2010. It has a Limited Lifetime warranty, but the part number has been discontinued, so they will have to give me another product. I will...

    '99 Tahoe 5.7L, starting problem

My '99 Tahoe 5.7L is not starting easily for the last few weeks. It's not my daily driver. I replaced the Fuel Pump in June 2010 with a Bosch unit. Before installing that pump, the only way to start it was spray some starting fluid in the throttle body. That is not working this time. Now it...

5.7L Vortec Oil Pressure Sending Unit, replacement how-to?

The socket tool for the sending unit I bought at AutoZone was too long to fit over the sending unit. There was not enough room between the firewall and the sending unit. I had to remove the sending unit with pliers. I could not find a wrench that fit the shape of the sending unit. I returned the...

5.7L Vortec Oil Pressure Sending Unit, replacement how-to?

Thanks for the info rockenthebowtie. I now realize with the throttlebody intake duct off, I can lay a large piece of cardboard across the top of the engine, and can see it a bit better than looking at it from the side of the engine. Even a mirror can help at that point.
