The rear A/C is mounted behind the panel and above the wheel well on the passenger side of the vehicle. I hear similar noises when it is cold but only when the stereo is not on. Hopefully this is not an indication the rear unit is going bad...

I am running the sub with an after market amp. I am sure you could run it with a factory amp but I already had one so I did not look for a factory one. I did tap into the front sub to get the signal to run the rear amp. I am trying to recall the cost of the box, it...
To remove the panel you also need to remove the rear speaker panel and the pillar panel to the right (need to remove a bolt that is through both panels). To remove the panel in the 2004 there is the screw for the cargo net, a plastic push tab and then you pull the panel straight out. Do not...
I have the Bose system which sounds good but is lacking in bass. The front sub is not enough for me; I searched this forum and got the idea to install a 2002 rear Bose sub box in the rear factory location. Searched for a box and found a factory box and sub from a 2002 on eBay. After the box...
I installed a 2002 rear sub box with a JL Audio 8 inch in my 04 with the bose system. Tapped into the front sub to get the RCA connections to run to the rear sub. Just finished the work over the weekend. The performance is a nice supplement to increase the bass. I say supplement b/c in no...
I installed the Air Lift adjustable air springs in the rear on my 04 Z71 Tahoe. These eliminated any sag in the rear when towing my 25 foot camper. With the bags full and no trailer the ride is much stiffer, which is resolved by reducing the air pressure. I also installed the controller so I...
Was under the Tahoe last weekend and there is not much piping after the muffler. I am indifferent on the chrome tip, just looking to add performance. How much more gain or benefit is it to get a cat back system vs. just replacing the muffler?

I bought an 04 Z71 2 years ago when I added a third child to the family.
This SUV tows better than most of my friends 1500 (F150) trucks. I have done 5-6 long trips with either a boat or a camper. The ride is nice and has enough power for towing. The only negative I have is gas mileage...
I was towing a 22ft boat that was 4,500 pounds with no issues. I sold the boat and bought a 25ft travel trailer (5,500 pounds) last year. The trailer came with this hitch http://www.equalizerhitch.com/ which reduces the sway.
I have towed the camper on 6-7 trips this year with the max drive...
I wanted to purchase the Magnaflow cat back exhaust for my 04 Z71 Tahoe and the parts store said that this kit will not fit on a Z71. Has anyone installed a magnaflow cat back on a Z71?
