Ive helped a lot of friends with it, and did re search on it for a long time. I did not do my own though, because of the wiring and because no place to do it at the time. :sad: here are a few snap shots of my mine.. I still have a few things left to do on mine before I can say its 100% done.

It was pulled from a caddy or ss silverado, from a yard. Wish i would have built my own motor up but this one is holding up great after some work that was done to it. I need to get a stall, and shift kit. the tranny is all stock as well. The great thing about the 80E trannys is they are so easy...

You have to get a wiring harness for the computer an motor, an then make it all connect to the gauges and dash stuff. Also the fuel. Its very hard, just so many little things have to be done to make a big thing work :crazy:

Its an easy swap, the cables will work. The hard part is wiring.

How weird is that.. Did you have to use a credit card when buying yours? I hate using mine, i rather use pay pal but they don't accept it.
