I noticed yesterday that the assist steps that are on Escalades have a chrome strip border. I think this would be a nice accent for my white LTZ that I have replaced both bowties with chrome ones. Anyone know where you can get a chrome strip that would work? I assume any thin strip would work, but I want it to look nice.

Also, what is a good silicone based lubricant to rub on the rubber around door frames (to protect it AND get rid of a couple little squeaks I have there)?

You can buy a flexible chrome strip which is actually a silver mylar bonded to a flexible plastic and it comes in a roll and various widths. It uses an attached sticky foam tape like 3M trim tape. Check auto parts stores and auto paint/body stores.

You can get a silicone spray at most of those places also.
