My 1997 Tahoe tank cover or shield is rusted out and needs to be replaced. This is the cover fitting over the bottom of the fuel tank held on by two straps. Anyone know exactly what it is called or know the part number? Thanks for your help.

Its the fuel tank skid plate. No I dont know the part number. If not the dealer try LMC Truck. Or an off road site that may have skid plates.

lmc dont have them. i found no place for aftermarket. easiest thing to do is just bolt a sheet of steel up there. that's my plain, i've even seen uhmw used for skid plates.
