HELP!!

I got trouble codes 171, 174 and 300. Here's the symptoms; rough idle, engine surging and lately quick stops causing engine to shut off. I haven't done anything except check air filter and fuel injectors and they all check out fine. My truck is an 03 Tahoe 5.3L Flex fuel and all options. I appreciate any and all advice.

Ok Get some carb cleaner or similar and spray around the intake to heads. 9 times out of 10 what causes this is leaky intake gaskets.

Also be sure to check for any sort of air leaks before the intake.

Ok thanks dude. As for replacing the gaskets if thats the problem, is that something that can be done by a novice or should be left to the pros?

I had that problem in my Nissan after I Sea Foamed it... Turned out to be gunk around my the throttle Plate. Cleaned the throttle body and it fixed the problem.

Yea, once you get passed the intimdating looking wires, etc, its a breeze.

I forgot also check your fuel pressure and volume.
