Longer tow hooks

I need some inspiration. I have a 2008 Tahoe which has short recessed tow hooks, I need to find a way to get them to stick out in front of the bumper so that when my hot air balloon is tied to the front it doesn't damage the bumper when the line pulls upwards.

Any suggestions

I don't know about modifying the front tow hooks, but the obvious solution to me is to use a shackle hitch instead. Unless of course you are already towing something...
