Hello there,

my name is Niels and I'm living in Northern Germany, close to the Northern Sea.

I'm planning to buy a 3rd gen Tahoe, but not really sure what to go for.
We do own a 2014 Camaro SS AT and a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES.

These three models are currently the most interesting one:

- 2007 LTZ with 176.000 miles in black - 4WD - 5.3L V8
- 2011 LT with 130.000 miles in white - 2WD - 5.3L V8 FlexFuel
- 2011 Police SSV with 145.000 miles in black -4WD . 5.3L V8 FlexFuel

-> The 2011 Police SSV has no center console, but a heavy duty transmission
cooler, better underbody protection, rubber flooring, etc
-> The 2007 has no FlexFuel Engine and a four-speed automatic
-> The 2011 models have 6 speed transmissions (the same one used in my
Camaro)
- Both 2011 show sometypical dashboard cracks.

Based by the asking price they are all pretty close, about 1300 USD difference between the lowest price (2011 LT) and the highest price (2007 LTZ).

But so far technically they are all in good shape.

I would appreciate if could get some help for making a decision.
What car would be the robust one / the one which would probably the best one to chose?
In the SSV are there still cup holders available even w/o the center console?
What about general travel comfort? Is it actually possible to re-install a center console or at least some type of center console?
Anything I should definitely check, like known / common issues?

Also how reliable are the 3rd gen (07-08) Escalades with 6.2L engine?

Thanks a lot for any feedback that helps me to make up my mind and to help me to do the right decision.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Regards

Niels

My advice is to stay away from 3rd generation altogether. Alot of issues with most. Trust me. I own a 2009 and it's constantly being repaired
