Whats everyones opinion on the best programmer for our years? Can you actually gain any HP? Is there a way to get rid of the rev limiter without a programmer? It will get up to 100mph with no problem, and then kicks off. Not that you very often need to top that speed in a vehicle such as this, but nice to know that you can if needed.

VSS=Vehicle Speed Sensor. 3 wire device usually, 5vdc Ground Signal, can find the wire that pulses when the driveshaft turns and cut it splicing a simple on/off switch in this wire so that when switch is on, the circuit is completed and the PCM is none the wiser, and when you turn it off (when you are up to speed) the PCM does not know how fast you are going and wont cut you out. SIDE NOTE, this may not be good on the trans if the PCM decides it needs to do something to the shift patterns at high speed/rpms because it cant detect MPH....... I have heard of some attempting this because they were either too cheap or to redneck to get a programmer.

Sidenote again, you can get a PCM sent off pretty cheap to get it retuned (power/mpg/etc), they can also remove rev limiters, mph limiters, adjust line pressures and all kinds of stuff for ya, especially if you have mods like exhaust/ cam/ heads/ intake/ etc done....(96+ tho)

huh, good to know. finding the right wires sounds more difficult than just buying a decent programmer that can do much more.
