One more question thread from me, just got 99 z71 and with some snow and ice we had a few days ago I noticed if it was in 2hi and the rear wheels slipped I could hear some kind of pump come on, sounds exactly like the abs pump. I don't feel anything that feels like traction control nor does it slow the spin down, but what's with the noise? I didn't think there were any cars or trucks with traction control without a way to turn it off, my grand prix had a light that would come on whenever there was a spin too.

Also one of the very few little things I don't like about the tahoe is how light the steering is. I understand there's some type of variable effort steering on here, any kind of hack for that so it's at max hardness all the time?
