2008 tahoe 5.3 ,volant ,hedders,GM performance exhaust. would a throttle body spacer and aftermarket MAF sesnor help out , or is it a waste of money ?

Make sure to check that gasket where it connects to the throttle body every so often. It is a PITA!!

If the only performance mod you have done is the air intake then there will be zero HP increase for a couple of reasons. The engine will only use the air it needs. If you have not modified a way for the extra air to get out there will be no change. The mass air flow sensor is going to measure the amount of air comming in and adjust the fuel to give the proper mixture of 14.7 to 1

I thought with more air the MAF will add more fuel to keep the proper mixture

Yes it will but if nothing else is modified it does not need the extra so it will not change the performance. Adding exra HP is just a sales gimmic to get people wanting more power to speend a couple hundred dollar. If it only adds 8-10 HP you really could not feel that and in my mind it really does not count as a gain.
