Post pictures if you have them please :)

I just recently picked up a set of 24 x 10 rims. I have been checking into tires and had decided to go with Kuhmos in size 305/35R-24. From what I have read this size appears to be the most common amongst the 2007 Tahoes on 24s. I thought these would do the job, but after looking at more and more pictures of them on the hoes, i'm starting to think they might be too thin.

I do not plan on lowering it in the immediate future, so was thinking I might was something with a little more sidewall.

If anyone is running something with a thicker sidewall, could you please let me know the size and post a picture is you have it.

I found some good info by seaching, but not alot of pictures of the rim/tire combo, which is what I would really like to see.

Thanks in advance
Anthony

Anytime you go with a rim size (24x10) like you have chosen, I do not think you are going to find any available tire with any appreciable sidewall, say like a 55 series tire found on OEM 20" wheels. Maybe with an off-road tire but really not anything else. Good luck in your search!!

I'm not looking for anything anywhere close to the 55 series that come stock on these. I think those would look to bulky on the 24s. What i'm trying to see is something in the middle.

You can try 305/40 tires. Only ones I've seen that size are by General Tire. This will give you a little more meat but not too much to look "bulky".

well the 305-35r24 is larger in diameter than the 40 series. a lot of people go with the 295-35r24 but it is smaller. I just put the 305-35 r24 and had to trim a little of the inner fender on the rear, but no rubbing issues on the front. it is the largest tire that you can fit on a 24" rim. the next size bigger is the 325 but is for the hummers and will not fit on the tahoes. i wanted the biggest i could fit so that why i went the 35 series.

the 35 series is 32.4 over all and a 40 is 33.6. In my research the only tire that comes up is the general grabber and i have sold that tire in the 20" and they suck. But the 40 series calls for a 10.5" or wider rim, that would be bowed out on the rim and it will wear in the center. I think you will have clearance issues in the front that will require major inner fender trimming. the 35 series is so close to the front frame. I know on the 26" you have to beat the frame in a little to keep the tire off it.

The 295/40/24 is also an option, overall of 33.3", almost a full inch bigger than the 305/35.

Does look like it would be a very snug fit with the 40 series tires. Does anyone happen to have a good side view picture of either a 285/40/24 or295/40/24?

with the 295 or 285 it will look like the escalade with the factory 22's. same OD. personally i feel like its all wheel with a rubber band tire.. plus it will ride hard, you will feel everything in the road

go with the 295 or the 285-40-24 they are youre best choice.the 295-40-24 would max it out pretty well.but the 285-40-24 would allow you to still drop it some like 2-front,3-rear.

I'm not a wheel/tire expert, but that sounds a little backwards to me. With the 285/40/24 or295/40/24, the sidewall would be thicker than with a 305/35/24. The 305/35/24 would seem like it would be the all wheel with rubber band tire, am I correct.

I even just checked some tire calculators and they are showing numbers that match my thoughts...

tire size sidewall height section width overall diameter circumference
275/55/20 5.95 10.83 31.91 100.25
285/40/24 4.49 11.22 32.98 103.6
295/35/24 4.06 11.61 32.13 100.94
295/40/24 4.65 11.61 33.29 104.59
305/35/24 4.2 12.01 32.41 101.8

*The formatting on that got all out of wack, but you can kinda make it out
