From the reading I have done, you just need to replace the sensor, not the whole encoder motor assemble. The sensor is around $70.00 for the part and the whole assemble is around $500.00.

As far as programming, do you need to take the cluster into the dealer by itself or installed?

Did a little more reading, seems like the encoder sensor is another major issue with GM's. Part # 88962315.

Are all cluster interchangable between the '03-'06 yukon, denali, tahoe and silverado? Including the diesels? Ive seen some on ebays for a decent prices and I would like the tranny temp gauge so I was going to pick up a denali set or maybe the silverados (but its from a diesel model).

YOu only need to run the block heater for a couple of hours before you start it. Timer is the way to go. UP here it can get down to -40. My tahoe was brought up from the US and never had a block heater. It was -30 the other day and it started. Didnt like to start it that cold, but what...

Every thing I have read up on about this subject says its just plug and play, so Im looking of for a escalade cluster to install.

Has anyone had an issue with the heater in the rear?? The AC works and so does the fan, but when I crank up the heat, it still just blows cold air. Winters coming, and I have a new born, so the wife is on me to get this fixed.

Does anyone have a service manual for a 2004 tahoe?? I think my front wheel bearing is shot and I am going to replace it. Are aftermarket wheel bears/hubs okkay to use? Its half the price of the dealer.

Thanks guys, I used the DIC to reset it. Man what a pain in the a$$ to change the oil, the filter is 3/4 over top of the skidplate, so when I started to unscrew the filter it began dropping oil all over the place. Any tricks or tips?

When you do an oil change, how do you reset the oil filter meter??
