From the reading I have done, you just need to replace the sensor, not the whole encoder motor assemble. The sensor is around $70.00 for the part and the whole assemble is around $500.00.
Are all cluster interchangable between the '03-'06 yukon, denali, tahoe and silverado? Including the diesels? Ive seen some on ebays for a decent prices and I would like the tranny temp gauge so I was going to pick up a denali set or maybe the silverados (but its from a diesel model).
YOu only need to run the block heater for a couple of hours before you start it. Timer is the way to go. UP here it can get down to -40.

Thanks guys, I used the DIC to reset it. Man what a pain in the a$$ to change the oil, the filter is 3/4 over top of the skidplate, so when I started to unscrew the filter it began dropping oil all over the place. Any tricks or tips?
