I would like to install a factory Navi system in my 2007 Tahoe LTX with Bose, but my friend is trying to convince me to install an aftermarket head unit. (pioneer KW-NT300) I still want all the functions to work like, OnStar, XM, steering controls, rear video screen, rear view cam. Does anyone have any advise on which way to go..... stock or not????

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Unfortunately I am not a stereo guy, but making sure that the aftermarket unit can be made to work with everything else is the way to go. If it does then I would say it is personal preference, I just can't tell you either way because I am not sure if it would work with the aftermarket unit. Sorry, but there are other members here that have more knowledge than I do and can help you with that....

If I was planning a change in the head unit, and wanted everything else to work and be compatible with it, I would go with the GM unit. Yeah, I know, I work for a dealer, and some may think I would steer you that direction because of working for GM...but, If you don't believe me, read some other posts on issues of what other guys are now trying to solve after an upfit of aftermarket equipment. It doesn't make the aftermarkes stuff bad, just a headache to get working in sync with all the other stuff you would expect to be compatible with the nav unit.
This is just my opinion, and I'm not trying to sell you anything. Good luck.
