Changing Navigation region for Exported Denali?

Hey,
I moved to Dubai, UAE from Cali and took my 2007 Yukon XL Denali with me. I went to the dealers, and asked them for a map Disk. They told me I had to swap out the navigation unit and buy one from them costing about $2k. I wanted to know is there any easier way to change the region for my navigation? Also, is there anything that could happen if I change it or any consequences?

I would really appreciate the help!!

No they only sell North America. I need the middle east disk with UAE. My dealer has the latest disk, but they said that the disk doesn't run on an American Navigation. Im guessing you have to change the region so it changes the format to PAL instead of NTSC(America).
Any Help?
