I had to have the rear end replaced because it started howling after 62,000 miles. After that, the mechanic kept hearing noise so both the rear then front u-joints were replaced, and then he heard noise from the front differential. A replacement was ordered and then was installed. When taken on a drive, the drive train started locking down and the fluid was checked and metal shavings were found. Then it was discoved that the front differential was found to be a 3.42 and should have been a 3.08. A new differential was ordered. My question is, what knd of damage could this have done to the transmission and/or transfer case?
