Front Floor Console

Does anyone know if the center floor consol lid is supposed to give when you lean on it. It almost looks like its supposed to do that. When I get in the vehicle and I lean on the consol to get myself situated in the seat. The lid hinge gives under my weight like its a safety mechinism or is it broken? Or do I need to lose weight?

I notice the console does move ever so slightly but not around the hinge. It will move slightly to the left or right depending on what side your getting into but it shouldn't feel loose. Just the inertia from one's body weight but again, it shouldn't feel loose or affect the hinge in any way.
