front parking brake cable replacement

Hello all,

I have an 03 Tahoe Z71 with a broken front parking brake cable. I can find no writeups or anything on how to change this cable. From what I can tell I would have to remove the parking brake cable to change this. Am I right? If so, how do you go about removing the parking brake pedal? I've poked around in there and I can only find one stud/nut holding it on. I am sure there more but I cannot find them and have no idea how I would access them if I could find them!
