My '02 yukon XL denali 6.0 does great for a tow rig, I pull a 23 ft toy hauler and even on the hills it does alright, if doing alot of towing I would go to a diesel though, the 6.0 does strain a bit much for that big of a trailer but does pretty good!!
I just pour 1/2 of a bottle in a bucket, pour the same amount of water as I dumped in a bucket in the bottle, shake it up a little and I have a perfect 50/50 mix. I also have a bottle that I wrote 50/50 on it that always has mixed water to coolant in it so if I ever need some to put in a rig I...
That's cool you are trying to help him out, I would do the same thing. Ask the guy if the fluid level is full, might have split a hose and have a small leak.
Heck man, last weekend I changed out my fuel filter and when I went to start my truck to make sure it wasn't leeking, the angle I was looking under my truck it looked like fuel was gushing out, looked under my truck and notice that water was squirting out of the back of my muffler, couldn't...
I'd do it in a heart beat, especially that he is basically giving you 9500 for your ride, even with electrical problems! I would love a duramax diesel right now, keep us informed!!
Does the water a little smell sweet (antifreeze) or does it just smell like dirty water? Mufflers can get condensation in them, especally when cold outside, from driving (hot exhaust) and then letting it sit.
I wouldn't touch an O2 sensor until you believe there is a problem with one, they are exposed to heat all the time and can get brittle, plus from what I hear is Justin can tell when doing your tune if one isn't working right, replace it then.
Could also be the heater core, check the passenger side carpet where someone would put their feet at when sitting in the front, see if it's wet. If it's anything like my denali, you should have a compartment for an in cabin filter for the air system, open it up and take out the filters and see...
Yeah it was held on by that strap, I loosed up both bolts and kinda tapped it and it just slid out (after I unscrewed the fuel fittings first). I did jack up the side of the truck some so I could use my creeper, it was suprisingly easy compared to the ones I've done in the past!!
I notice that some synthetic gear oil products have a limited slip additive in them already (redline sells some with and without), I need to be sure to get the stuff without that additive, right? Would gear oil with that additive in it built in it cause problems for a denali front and rear def.?
I changed out my filter today on my denali, by far the easiest filter change I have ever done, in and out in 5 minutes, can't believe how easy it was to get to. I didn't have any black gunk but the fuel wasn't the most pristine so it was a worthy venture.
